Qurious about this error msg on the good old blue screen that I received tonight. First time for it, did some google searches, I think it has to do with memory, but am unsure. Any info appreciated, and thanks for your time.

Hi AcaCandy, thanks for taking a look at my question. I forgot to mention, that I am running 98se. My fault, I should have known better than not to write the complete error msg. It was late, and I am ill, that`s the only excuse I have. In trying to remember, I believe I was kind of shocked at the shortness of the error msg, no numbers to designate what specific error. I think the msg just said "error, leak detected in exp tab, press any key to continue. I could be wrong, like I said, not in the best of health at the present. I did a google before coming to the forum, and the only thing I came up with was it had something to do with memory, but was not conclusive for me. The computer seems to be functioning ok, and I was more or less curious. If that isn`t enough error info, just let me know, we can mark this thread however it needs to be(solved, delete, whatever), so no more time is wasted on it, then if I get that error msg again, I will make sure to take down exactly. Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

Regards

You could post your startup items so we can see if you have too many things running from the get go.

Start, run, type msinfo32 and hit ok, go to software, startup, edit, select all, edit, copy and come back and paste.

I'd disable ram booster. And I believe at least system tray should be running as well, along with any load power profiles that appear, either one or two. Start, run, msconfig, and hit enter, then go to the startup tab.
