Greetings, I trying to find a repair shop for a Dell 8200, in the Denver area.
I am having trouble with the back light on the unit. I would like to find out if I have a problem with the LCD or the inverter board. If I hold down the FCN key and the LCD/CRT key I can get the screen to light up for a short time. If I hook up a external monitor the the unit works just fine (through the monitor).

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem on a Toshiba 8xxx. The bulb was damaged and the screen. The repair through a shop would be quite expensive, but I found good replacement parts on ebay. Not to franchise the website... but I found everything I needed from the website... and made the repairs myself.
