Hello everyone,
I have an ASUS Q551L notebook. I fell asleep with it last night watching a movie and must've bashed a bunch of the keys because my keyboard won'the type anymore.
It started when I woke up and noticed that when I clicked on a link to YouTube, Chrome would download the link instead of open up a new web page. I was also not able to type in any search bars. I was able to use task manager to shut down Chrome but when I tried to type on Internet Explorer I wasn't able to. So I wound up restarting the laptop because I thought that would fix everything, which unfortunately didn't happen.
I'm now locked out of my account because I can't type my password in. I can enter safe mode, but need to type my password in there too in order to get anything done. It's a tablet/computer so I'm normally able to just press the touch screen and the virtual keyboard pops up but it only pops up for a second and then blinks in and out on the bottom of the screen when I keep pressing the password box.
The strange thing is, the space bar still works except for when I try to enter my password. As does enter, caps lock, F1 - F12 when I'm in safe mode, etc. I think the keyboard is in some weird lock setting but I pressed numlock/scrlock and fn but nothing happened. I think all the keys work and it's not a matter of hardware.
Please help!
