I have not really looked into this a great deal yet as I ran out of time but I set up my dad's wireless router on Sunday and fitted a wireless card to his Compaq laptop which he used to use with dial up internet. The installation went fine and the laptop will communicate with my wireless network but will not connect to the internet. It points me to internet connections but i have checked these and they look good. My next step is to connect it direct to the moden via a cable to double check the wireless connection. I think the laptop was Win 98SE and was updated with Win XP ie not a clean install, in fact i'm pretty sure but I did not do it. Any pointers in case this a frequent question would be great. I will try the direct connection tomorrow and see what occurs.
