HOW can i tell if my laptop (compaq -presario)dvd burner uses dvd-r or dvd+r ? its a 2004 model.

Last time i read up on dvd burners,they used either one but not the other. or are dvd burners being deisgned for both? the manual did not specifly the format for the dvd burner.

DVD burners are now designed for both... Some of them at least. Mine burns -R +R and ram . If you post the model I will see if I can find anything on their site..........
