Hi,
I spilt a drink on my laptop keyboard & now the 'a' button is messed up. There is no response when I press it (so I copy & paste when I need it) but perhaps more annoyingly it just keeps typing a string of a's at random time, which can cause great frustration when, for example, trying to type a password.

I know you won't be able to fix the button but I was wondering whether there I a way for me to switch off the a button in the registry, or soething along those lines. Even better would be if I could switch the a commnd to another, less used key, such as `. Does anyon know if any of these things are possible, anda if not, any other ideas?

replace the keyboard. Yours seems to be damaged.

im aware of that. unfortunately its a laptop so i think the problem runs deeper than the keys themselves.
Thats a possibility, but I would rule of the keyboard (since everything else seems functional)

To remove a laptop keyboard, you will need to remove some screws from underneath your keyboard. Then with a flathead screwdriver, lift the keyboard from its locks around it. Then disconnect the cable, and its off. Same procedure to add a new one...
