Anyone else notice that Kerryites (my nickname for Kerry's supporters) rarely talk about their candidate's good points, they just talk about how stinky they think President Bush is? It makes one think that there really isn't that much Kerry can run on, other than he's against Bush. Comments anyone?

Some Bush bashers dislike Kerry just as much and feel that both the Republican and Democratic parties are bad ideas. At least with the candidates available, all around it's a bad choice. ;)
so there are some that do not endorse Democrat or Republican :D

Cannot say I'm crazy about Kerry, but willing to take the unknown with Kerry to the known with Bush and will vote ABB. With an unnecessary war (Iraq) and it's continued degradation, loss of regard worldwide, TIA, PA I & II, FCC out of control, lies & misleading statements to obtain his ends, unneeded and ill thought out tax cuts, John Ashcroft, Rummy, Cheney, etal - no way would I vote for Bush. I held my nose in 2000 when voting against Bush, as I did not believe Bush was qualified to be president (now I'm sure) and didn't care for Gore - will be the same in 2004, just won't hold my nose - the choices this time are clear IMHO. :rolleyes:

Easy. Obtain a large monochrome photo of George, and each morning stick a pin somewhere on the guys anatomy. Has worked quite satisfactorily with my ephagy of Tony. He is now making such regular visits to hospital that one Brit daily tabloid suggests he may be suffering hypochondria :eek:

I've created a monster! LOL I just have to say that everyone's made very good points, and I have to concede that Iraq's turning out to be a bit of a pickle. However, every time I wonder why the @#$ we messed around with the whole shebang there, I ask myself, "Is the world better or worse off now that we have doctored pictures of a guy playing Whack-A-Mole, except with Saddam Husseins popping out of the little holes?"

Bush threads = 113
Kerry threads = 28

That doesn't include all the Bush Bashing threads WITHOUT Bush's name in the title.

And for comparison .... Clinton = 19

I think we need many more Kerry threads to even come close to the spewed votriole against the President of my country.

But to the subject of the thread, which none of the left here bothered to address, NO I have not seen anything positive coming from the mouths of either the Candidate or his supporters. This has never been a campaign about what good things John Kerry can bring to the country. Yet when I see the majority of the Bush ads filled with a positive message for the future and much more hope for a better tomorrow.

Bush ads claim Kerry 'wrong on defense'
Associated Press

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/politics/2452239
WASHINGTON -- President Bush accuses rival John Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran, of voting against American troops in a new television ad that begins running today in West Virginia.

"Few votes in Congress are as important as funding our troops at war. Though John Kerry voted in October of 2002 for military action in Iraq, he later voted against funding our soldiers," the ad says.

The 30-second ad labels Kerry "wrong on defense" and says the Massachusetts senator did not support bills that would have ensured troops had body armor and earned higher combat pay, and that would have given reservists and their families better health care.

Kerry campaign spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said the bills included provisions for no-bid contracts that were "a clear giveaway to Bush's friends" and claimed that Bush is the only candidate that has "turned his back on those troops."

"While John Kerry is committed to these troops, he's not going to help Bush further his failed policies," Cutter said

Bush's new ad is running initially in West Virginia, where Kerry was campaigning today, but Bush advisers said it may run elsewhere where polls show it would be successful, if not nationwide. Bush is airing commercials at moderate-to-heavy levels in 18 states, claiming Kerry's economic and national security proposals and record are flawed.

Bush advisers said the new ad is designed to counter Kerry's potential appeal in the culturally conservative state -- his Vietnam War record -- and is the first sign of a new strategy for the Bush team.

In 2000, Bush's campaign primarily stuck to a single nationwide theme at a time in its TV advertising. This year, global themes will be supplemented by ads targeted to specific states based on detailed polling and focus groups.

In this case, criticizing Kerry's record on military issues both undercuts his appeal as a veteran and underscores the White House's argument that he says one thing and does another, the advisers said, speaking on condition of anonymity. They said ads touting Bush's strengths and attacking Kerry on other issues will be crafted for a specific state or states.

Advisers said the ad shows Kerry is operating in a "parallel universe."

"He's accusing the president of things that his record actually says he did," said Matthew Dowd, Bush's chief strategist.

Cutter responded that Bush "faces a bigger problem in that he has a mounting, widening and deepening credibility gap in his ability to take care of the troops."

Others have stated that Bush spend over $40mil on anti-kerry ads.

How about this one for the Kerry Family this is pretty interesting:

Subject: FW: Lost Jobs and Mrs. Kerry

This is quite interesting. Please take the time to read it.

Subject: LOST JOBS and Mrs. Kerry

Kerry does not like off shore companies: Oh Really??

Just came across a bit of information regarding Kerry and his
claim of the Bush administration sending jobs abroad. Well, it seems that
the Heinz Corporation, owned by Kerry's wife, has 79 plants where it
manufactures products and 57 of the 79 are located in countries outside of
the U.S. How many U.S. jobs are lost here???

Factories located at: Taipei,Taiwan (makes Heinz baby foods)Dublin,Ireland;Paris,France;Dovarmenez, France;Lisbon,Portugal;
Madrid,Spain; Milan,Italy; Monguzzo,Italy; Athens,Greece; Warsaw,Poland;
Pudliszki,Poland; Wodzislaw,Poland; Miedzychod,Poland; Moscow,Russia;
Georgievisk,Russia; Cairo,Egypt; Tel Aviv,Isreal; Haifa,Isreal; Elst,The
Netherlands and 6 other plants there; Brussels,Belgium; Dusseldorf,Germany;
Seesen,Germany; Turnhout,Belgium; Rovereto,Italy;
Chateaurenand,France; North York,Ontario,Canada;
Wheatley,Ontario,Canada; Caracas,Venezuela; San Jose,Costa Rica;

Zealand; Tokyo,Japan; Guangzhov,People's Republic of China (makes infant
cereal); Qingdao, People's Republic of China (makes infant foods,
ketchup,mayonnaise & puree); Inchon, South Korea (makes Heinz products and
StarKist); Bangkok,Thailand; Mumbai,India; Jakarta,Indonesia;
Surabaya,Indonesia; Manila, Philippines; Wanchai,Hong Kong.

Also recently purchased from Bordens these products: Classico Pasta
Sauce; Aunt Millies Pasta Sauce; Mrs. Grass Receipt Soups; Wylers Bouillons

Think of the conflict of interest a President would have who's wife owns
business interests in all of these countries and others. Pass it on!!!!

Catsup, Pickles, and the Radical Left
by Paul R. Hollrah

Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in Mozambique,
the daughter of a Portuguese physician, and was educated in Switzerland
and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working as a United
Nations interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60s when she met a handsome young American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in Geneva.
He told her his family was in the food business.

They were married in 1966 and returned to Pittsburgh where his family ran
the giant H.J. Heinz food company. He was elected to the U.S. House of
Representatives in 1971, and in 1976 he was elected to the first of three
terms in the United States Senate.

Senator H. John Heinz was a friend of mine not a close friend, not a
golfing buddy, but a friend nonetheless. The last time I saw him alive was,
oddly enough, in the mens restroom at the Maverick Steakhouse, a favorite
nighttime eatery and watering hole for politicians and lobbyists in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The senator was standing at a wash basin, drying his hands, when I entered
the room. When he turned and saw me he rushed toward me, threw his arms
around me, and said, Paul, its good to see you! All I could do was mumble,
Senator, do you really think we should be seen hugging each other in a men
restroom? He didnt think so, and neither did I, but we shared a good
laugh over his impromptu display of affection.

Several years later, in 1991, he was killed when his plane collided with a
Sun Oil Company helicopter over a Philadelphia suburb the same helicopter
that I often used to travel between Philadelphia and Washington, DC. The
senator, his pilot and co-pilot, and both of Suns helicopter pilots were killed. He was survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three young sons.

Four years later, after inheriting Heinzs $500 million fortune, she
married Senator John Forbes Kerry, the liberal junior senator from
Massachusetts. She became a registered Democrat and the process of her
radicalization was set in motion.

Heinz Kerry is not shy about telling people that she required Kerry to
sign a pre- nuptial agreement before they were married. John Kerry may not
have check-writing privileges on the Heinz catsup and pickle fortune, but he
is certainly a willing and uncomplaining beneficiary of it. A lot of
hard-earned money, made through many years of hawking catsup, pickles,
and soup, has fallen into the hands of two people who despise successful
entrepreneurship and who believe in the confiscatory redistribution of wealth.

So how does Mrs. Heinz Kerry spend John Heinzs money? Just one example:

According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of
WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4
million to an organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does the
Tides Foundation do with John Heinzs money?

They support numerous anti-war groups, including Ramsey Clarks
International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein
when hes tried.

They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides
Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The Democratic Justice
Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from terrorist states.

They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are
known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.

They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist front
during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has been
arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate with
terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing.

They support Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Rights Action
League, and the Abortion Action Project.

They support the most violent of all homosexual action groups, ACT-UP.
They support the Barrio Warriors, a radical Hispanic group whose primary
goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to Mexico.

These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the
anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our
would-be first lady the wealthy widow of Republican senator John Heinz,
and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th President of the United States.

If voters will only try to imagine a woman such as Teresa
Heinz Kerry, the fairy godmother of the radical left, laying her head on a
pillow each night just inches from the President of the United States,
hopefully they will decide that the only way these two will ever be allowed
into the White House is with an engraved invitation in hand.

As I recall that somewhat embarrassing chance meeting in the mens
restroom at the Maverick Steakhouse in Harrisburg, instead of mumbling some
inane nonsense about getting caught in a friendly embrace, I wish now that had
the good sense to whisper in his ear, John! Go home! Get a lawyer! Change your will!

But, of course, we didnt know her then, did we?

dinotars,
Thanks for your post.

Kerry and his wife don't own Heinz anymore. They have no controlling interest in the company.

There are plenty of legitimate issues to nail Kerry on, but I don't think this is one of them.

LAN
