Hi, my problem is that somehow, in running system cleanups with Avast, my KeePass database was deleted (all of my saved passwords/logins!). I looked at their site for help but do not know how to do what they say. I have looked in the trash and searched my computer for the lost database, but have not found it. Can anyone help?

In order to use the repair functionality in KeePass 2.x, first create a new database file. Then, go 'File' → 'Import' and import the corrupted database file, using 'KeePass KDBX (2.x) (Repair Mode)' as format.

Maybe not.....I think what I did was search the whole computer from the search box in File Explorer.Did your search include looking in system folder locations and for hidden files?
You are not trying to repair a corrupted file. You are trying to locate a deleted file and the last set of directions under the heading "File Header/Signature" should be tried. I am not at all familiar with the use of Avast software and do not know how it deletes files. If it does a typical Windows deletion without emptying the recycle bin, you may find your recently deleted file in the recycle bin. If it deletes files in any other manner recovery may be more difficult or impossible.Below is from the KeePass site. I am also not familiar with how to search for files by their header information. It would take some time for me to research that and find out if it is possible with Windows 10 standard search.
You need to make sure Files Explorer is set to show hidden files and extensions. You also need to make sure that the Advanced search options are set to look in system foldersI think what I did was search the whole computer from the search box in File Explorer.
If you don't have a backup copy saved somewhere, then you are out of luck.
