Two issues listed below.

Issue 1

My Norton Anti Virus has identified two files with Keenvalue which it cannot delete or quarantine. My suspicion is that is might be finding it in a quarantine log from Adaware, Spybots or Spyguard but I do not know?

Here is the Norton log entry.

,Threat category: AdwareSource: C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1085031214-1202660629-1957994488-1000\Dc740.exe,Description: The file C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1085031214-1202660629-1957994488-1000\Dc740.exe is a Adware threat.

,Threat category: AdwareSource: C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1085031214-1202660629-1957994488-1000\Dc739.exe,Description: The file C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1085031214-1202660629-1957994488-1000\Dc739.exe is a Adware threat.

Should I worry about these and try and delete them in other ways? I could not manually find the file called C:\RECYCLER?

--------

Issue 2

Trying to do routine maintenance and delete the temp directories and cannot clean the Temp internet directory (it just hangs). THis concerned me because in the past when I had the Keenvalue problem I also could not get into Temp to clean it. I accessed my past solution located here (specifically the exchange on page 2).

You will see in the past I went to a manual removal as directed from eldergeek website which was this

Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Volum eCaches\Compress Old Files

On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When prompted to "Confirm Key Delete," click Yes.
Quit Registry Editor.
I tried to follow this again to delete the Temp Internet files but this file [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Volum eCaches\Compress Old Files
] no longer seems to exist, probably because I deleted it before, SO where would I look now for those stored files and HOW do I delete them???

Thx Jason,

Before I proceed I should tell you what I already have on my machine and what I did.

I have
- Spybot
- AdAware 6.0
- SpyGuard
- Pop-up Stopper

I updated and ran the first 2 before posting my Hijack log.

I am downloading CW shredder and the x-Cleaner but will not initialize them until I hear back from you if you thik it is necessary based on what I already have running.

thx for the help and happy Easter!

I am gone now for most of the day but will return to this later.

Regards.

- Emptied recycle bin
- Downloaded and ran CW Shredder - it said I was clean
- Downloaded and ran the x-Cleaner. It could not clean out my Internet Temp Files and just got hung up trying and had to be shut down via task manager (not responding)

Have not yet removed programs but did download newer Hijack and will post log.

thx.

Quick summary of where I am at.

- I still cannot get my Internet Temp files to delete. THis is a concern because when I had Keenvalue before thiis problem persisted. I detailed above how I manually deleted them before but that does not seem to be an option this time as that folder does not seem to exist (maybe because I deleted it...see first post in this thread).

- I am still a little concerned about my Norton finding Keenvalue but my gut is telling me that the location it found it might be a quarantine area even though I could not find that location manually or by using "Find".

Anyway hoping to get these resolved...any help appreciated!
