Been using CRT monitors up until sunday when I purchased my first LCD. The contrast is great, but colors seem to fade, depending on the horizontal plane you're sitting at. I was sitting dead center, horizontal and vertical, looking straight at the screen and the top appeared a bit different than the bottom. I've used LCD monitors before at work and noticed the same thing, also on laptops. I know they have limited viewing angles, but is this the norm? Reminds me of the projection televisions with their dark regions in the corners. I have a current model LG with 1400:1 contrast and 4ms response, the viewing angle is 160. If this is normal then I won't feel so bad. I just thought it would be less noticable once I got it home, specially on a name brand with good specs. Don't have the digital cable for it yet.

I think its the same. I have an LCD TFT monitor also, and i have to angle it downwards to see it properly. Really its just a case of positioning the monitor properly. Shouldnt be a cause for concern

There is some color shift with off-axis viewing, but I don't really notice it that much here.

I have a Dell LCD and when I hooked it up with the DVI connection I got a sharper picture, but some other people don't much see much of a difference between VGA and DVI.

It might give you a better picture, but I'd doubt if it would improve the viewing angle.

Will the digital cable be an improvement over the standard analog? My card has a connection for one.
Some say yes and some say no. FWIW I have a monitor with both dvi and analog inputs. My video card has both dvi and analog. I have tried both and I personally cannot tell the difference.
