Java question

753 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Cheeseball81
I'm viewing a website & click on a link, lower part of screen shows "Java-launch..." and then a couple of 3-digit #'s, but a blank page comes up. In IE...Advanced tab, "Java console enabled" and Java logging enabled" are not checked; "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled" is checked. Should the first 2 be checked...does Java need to be enabled? I hear some people keep it disabled, why i'm not sure. Any help is appreciated. :)

I actually have the same exact settings checked and unchecked, but don't experience any Java problems.

You may want to check in IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security Tab
For the Internet zone, be sure that the Security level is set to "Medium" or below.
Click on Custom Level
If you have chosen to customize your security settings for the Internet zone, be sure that under the Java heading, "Java permissions" is not set to "Disable Java."
You will want to select one of the three safety levels instead.
Also be sure that under the Scripting heading, "Scripting of Java Applets" is set to "Enable" or "Prompt."
