ok hoping this is an easy one.

recently fresh installed.

upon trying to log into chat room I get a quick pop up flash on screen then no chat applet loads.

running win xp pro
with Norton Int sec 2005

had this error before-->
Exception in thread "Thread-5" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError

anyone got their head round this one before willing to help
or anyone with suggestions greatly welcomed

ps also using Java 2 platform standard ed' v.1.5
(in broswer (IE6 SP2)) tools --> internet options --> advanced

heading of Javasun.. use JRE applet is ticked (though it keeps on having (requires restart) after it, restarted about 5 times
