I just have a short, but important, question as to whether or not OEM parts (like GPUs) are better, equal, or worse than parts from secondary manufacturers (i guess thats the name for them).

by secondary manufacturers i mean companies like XFX, BFG, and PNY.

OEM= original equipment manufacturer
Better? they should be the exact same but do not come with any other equipment
Examples:
An OS, only for that computer and cannot put it on another
OS full (none OEM) you can

OEM hardrive
Will come with no cables or install disk

OEM video card will come with no install disk or cables
just the card itself

OEM CPU
will not come with heatsink/fan

The product will be the same just lacking extra items ext...

Companies like XFX, BFG, and PNY "are" OEM manufacturers. They buy the chipsets from nVidia or ATI for graphics cards and build the boards.

Some OEM parts MAY have a different warranty than retail parts and any warranty issues are the responsibility of the builder rather than the specific part manufacturer.
