Problem:
randomly, with random programs (be it IE, word, AIM, stinger, ad-aware, basically any program) when i go to open them i get a error saying the program has encountered errors and needs to close......the little window that pops up usually offers a "debug" button, but i dont know what that is so i just hit continue/ok and the program im trying to open will close......sometimes i cant open it for a while, sometimes i can open it on second try.............then the window comes up like send report to windows......so usually ill just send it........and these errors appear for basically any program i have, totally at random......................

anybody have any suggestions?

Run System Restore, which enables the system to go back to a date before U had a problem. Everyone forgets about the most popular fix. Is simply running System Restore, which seems to undo just about anything for most folks. If System Restore doesn't work? Try sfc. This is the only/best way to repair Internet Explorer is to run a sfc check ( XP System File Checker.) Click start and then click Run. In the Run box type: sfc /scannow click OK. The progress bar will appear. SFC will take several minutes to run. It might ask for your Windows XP disk/cd so have it on hand.

Note: You can enable or disable IE Error Reporting. Right-click My Computer, choose Properties click the Advanced tab and then click on Error Reporting (at the bottom right.) On the Error Reporting dialog box, check the option Disable Error Reporting. And Notify Me When Critical Errors Occur so that you are notified of a Critical Error only.
