Hi, i have recently been having lots of problems with my Laptop performing forced shutdowns,
Normally they are quite indescript but now are giving a bit more info.

I am running windows XP home ed (SP2)
I have recently installed an external pioneer DVDR-108, and a PCMIA USB 2.0 adapter

the first blue screen message i got was just a random one which Said

perform a memory check or try changing Video adapters

Stop: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

tried a mormal restart (not given option of safe mode)

got to login screen typed in password then bluescreen with.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

stop: 0x0000000A, 0x00000000, 0x000000ff, 0x00000000, 0x804E0A4A

I am currently performing a HDD regenerator scan (as i can do it from boot disk) with no errors so far

anyone got any info as to why this is happening?
