IRQ sharing

This is a question related to another issue I'm having concerning a compaq desktop. I might have resolved that problem but not sure if I've created another.
Is it possible for two devices to share an IRQ?
The system in question has three PCI ports and it seems that the modem and the graphics card are now sharing IRQ11.
I can't test the modem (though I know it was working ok before) as I do not have a dial up account. No conflicts are showing anywhere in System properties, but I just need reassurance!

Cheers!

Modern pci cards are able to share irqs. If you are using xp or win2k, almost everything will show up on one irq. It is a normal function of ACPI.
It's completly normal! I wouldn't worry about it at all espically if there are no conflicts. See the only conflicts you would have is if they were sharing the same memory address in that same IRQ and the computer would tell you if it was. You are fine!

In the control panel, go to the modem, you can 'test' it there to be sure it's communicating.....
