Irfanview batch conversion lumping all files in one directory

I have 7800 images files in a total of 1800 subdirectories all within one main directory. Irfanview is working fine on finding all the image files and resizing them the way I want it to. But it is not putting the new files back into their individual subdirectories. It's lumping them all into the main directory which adds the task of moving them all into their original subdirectories. I've played around with the options and haven't stumbled across one that puts the files back where they came from. Am I just not seeing it or is Irfanview not capable of working this way?

I know there is an option to "create subfolders in destination folder" but that won't work in this case because all of my subdirectories have other files in them already, besides the ones I'm running through Irfanview. That would result in me manually moving a ton of files anyway.

I'm attaching an image of the options I'm using and the results. I'm not so sure that a placeholder or other tag might not be what will work but it's well above my expertise level....

Thank you!

That video is showing what the problem is... It's not putting the images back into the folders it took them out of. It's creating new directories with just the processed images in. My folders have the original pdf, tiff and jpg copies of each image in them. I need the program to take the jpgs from that folder, resize them and put them back. It will resize them fine but I can't figure out how to get it to put them back in the same subfolders.

I do not know the answer from my knowledge as I have never faced such a task
Could this be the solution
IrfanView Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Batch mode: How to convert/save all input files (even from different folders) back to original folders?
A: The Batch dialog text field "Output directory for result files" can contain a real folder path and/or placeholders (see the Help file, Options->Text pattern page).
Use the $D placeholder/text as result directory, which is the placeholder for the original file folder.
Take care, you can overwrite all input files! You can combine conversion+rename and set a new filename to avoid overwriting.
