How about in Internet Explorer itself?? Does it give you ANY messages at all??

My problem is that Internet options won`t open in the Windows control panel.

In this case, I believe you need to run something better than Free HighJackThis! Go to www.cnet.com and search for a anti-spyware application with a free trial. Just make sure it's only a time trial, there are "removal limitation" trials also. Let me know the outcome!!In my case, whenever I try to open it through IE, a box flashes up briefly, then disappears. It won't open up and it's bugging the heck out of me.
