Hello,

I have windows XP and I am having a problem with internet explorer. For some reason the program stopped functioning. I click the icon and nothing happens and I only get the send error message.

I tried to install IE6 from microsoft's website but the computer tells me that I have a newer version of explorer already installed. I removed IE from windows component but still could not install IE.

I removed IE from the windows component and re-installed it and I still get the same error.

Any help on how I can fix this problem without formatting my computer?

hi,

I went to the eldergeek site and i still get the same error.

Any ideas?

Could this have something to do witrh kazaa lite because ever since I installed it I am getting this problem. there is some database file the IE sometimes refered to. I can't tell you though what the file is called because I don't get the error message anymore. I just can't open explorer.

Kazaa Lite....It probably does:

Please get Spybot S&D to clear out any spyware.

Install the program and open it.

Before doing any scanning click Online and Search for Updates .
Put a check mark at and install all updates .
Click Check for Problems nd when the scan is finished have Spybot fix all it finds marked in red .

Then after reboot :
Download 'Hijack This! http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the " scan " button will change into a " save log " button.
Press that, save the log , load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
