I had a little trouble with my cable internet and had to re-install the old CD that i had but then everything was fixed and I uninstalled/deleted all the "software" - @home stuff, excite, etc. Here is my problem:

I am using IE6 and the software (comcast had its own 'Browser") changed the title bar at the top to say "Microsft Internet Explorer provided by @home" and in the far top right corner is their silly logo. I want to revert to the standard Microsoft - with the "e" logo and not to say "provided by......" How do i get rid of this? I dont even know if i can re-install just the browser since it is an integral part of winXP. Is it something in the registry that i can overwrite?

You need to open the registry. So be careful. Don't mess around with anything else.
  • Click on Start -> Run and type REGEDIT.
  • Click on OK. The Registry Editor opens up.
  • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Internet Explorer -> Toolbar.
  • There you will find one string value by the name of SmBrandBitmap. Modify its value and make it blank.
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Internet Explorer -> Main.
  • There you will find a string value by the name of Window Title. Modify its value and keep there a string of your choice.
  • Close Registry Editor.
  • Restart your machine.
