internet explorer error

I am running windows xp. I keep getting a message.. an error has occurred in internet explorer.Internet Explorer will close now..How do i fix this? I have attempted to do a restore and it says I cant back it up to the dates I choose.

Hi, DEEDEE6,

First thing to do is run a virus scan. You could go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and do an online scan.

Open your properties for internet explorer - click the advanced tab - uncheck "enable third party browser extensions"

Restart computer and load IE

I scanned 3 times no virus showed and when doing the house call the internet explorer errors out on me
