I have 2 networked computers, both can print to a large format HP printer via a jetdirect print server box. After instaling IE7 both computers are now unable to print. The print server uses port 9100 and address 192.168.1.5
I think the problem is to do with port blocking but I am unable to 'release the port'
I have looked in the windows firewall setting but without luck.

Can you print from other applications, or did IE remove all functionality? I don't think it's a firewall issue, as the XP firewall only blocks "incoming" ports, not "outgoing".

It may be a coincidence, but try rebooting the print server box.

Thanks for the help on this port blocking (?) problem I have after installing Inernet Explorer 7. Unfortunaley the suggestions did not work. Gurutech, I can print form other applications if it is to the usb connected printer. It is just the printer contected to the HP jetdirect box on the network that I can not print to.
