My operating system is windows XP.

I downloaded Explorer 7 and kind of liked it but had an issue of not being able to view videos or images opening in a seperate box. My mouse would turn to a window with a circle with a slash through it and then there was a blank window. So I uninstalled 7 and am now running 6 thinking it was a security thing within 7 (which I haven't been able to resolve) 6 is doing the same thing except my mouse turns into a box with a X in it and no window opens.

What security issues do i need to fix in order to resolve this problem?

thanks!

Yes, I have checked that and it isn't turned on. I am unable to enlarge pictures from off of the web. Even in my webmail account if a picture is sent, it will not open.

i've got internet explorer 7 and have been having the same problems you are. I recently went to microsoft and they gave me a download to get, which i did. It's very confusing but if you can it try that.

The name of the download is called "User Agent String Utility". I found it very confusing and didn't use it, but if you can get it.................................good luck

Thanks, know something strange? I got a Microsoft update for Explorer 7 (downloads automatically and all I have to do is install it) soooOOooo, I installed it. Now even though I uninstalled 7 and am using 6, my 6 looks like 7 and now the items open! Maybe that "User Agent String Utility" was in that package........go figger! LOL

was having issues with not being able 2 open a link within ie7 also, & couldn't right click & save images from aol users, so downloaded the user utility described above, now everything works just fine!! it tricks websites/pages into thinking it's ie6... i'd say download it if ur having probs with ie7!!! :)

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking the utility was included in the auto update that I installed as now my IE 6 is now looking like IE 7 and the commands work now. Or do you think I may have to re download 7 again in case some files are missing in which my browser may not work correctly in the future?

i spoke 2 soon LOL. i'm still having the same probs with IE7 that i was with AOL emails, not being able 2 right click & save. after reading in detail what that utility does, has 2 do with websites etc, so was able 2 view embedded images on websites after clicking the utility, but don't think it does much else? only reason u would need 2 redownload IE7 is 4 the security issues & so that window's updates won't bug u about it lol. u can always turn that off as well. just stick with what u know works i'd say :)
