My problem started a little bit ago when one day (note I hadn't made a change in my system that day) for some reason BOTH Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox would not work, My Internet connection was fine because I could use certain games and applications that use an internet connection, Internet Explorer would open up but remain white and blank, Mozilla However would not even open or make signs of loading quite strange, but than I changed Firefox's .exe name From Firefox.exe to Firefox2.exe which allowed me to connect to the internet once again which I beleive is an indication of Malware. Anyway once I got Firefox working again i started having yet a different problems when I used google to search for sites, It would bring me to some generic ad site, that was really in no way related to my search, it would do this 5-25 times before I got through. Which leads us to the present in which I am frustrated and angry:mad:. ( I know others are having this problem but it seems to be one that really applies to each person differently ending in various different solutions)

Here is my Hijack Log I really hope someone can find the source of my problem (could be more than one)

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

The P2P programs you have installed expose you to risks because of the nature of the P2P file sharing process. File sharing/P2P programs rely on members giving and gaining unrestricted access to computers across the P2P network. This practice can make you vulnerable to data and identity theft. It also exposes you to very malicious worms and trojans. You change those risky default settings to a safer configuration but the act of downloading files from an anonymous source greatly increases your exposure to infection.

I suggest you go to add/remove programs and remove all P2P programs from your machine!

Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it. Save it to your desktop.

Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a HijackThis log so we can continue cleaning the system.
