Hey guys, i have a little question.

I have a computer with 512Mb 333Mhz and i want update to 1Gb with other module of 512 RAM, but the store's doesn't sell memory of 333Mhz just 400Mhz.

Can I buy a memory of 400Mhz? ¿I will have problems? The memory are Kingston.

Thanks,

James

Well it is always best to buy same speed and manufacturer of ram. Now will it work? in your case I believe you will be fine. what will happen is the computer will step down the 400mhz to 333Mhz. both being Kingston sticks is also a good ideal.

So I believe you will be okay. Try to get the same timing though like CAS of 2.5, 3 ext.. ask them about that. that seems to cause more issues then Mhz of the ram.
