Installing Quickstudy French on Vista not working, please help!

I have tried to install Quickstudy French (by the Learning Company copyrighted 1999) on my acer Aspire 5315-2274 laptop, running Windows Vista Basic, but once I get the message saying that the program has installed onto the hard disc, an error message of "E/JESE/DSSAGENT.EXE" would not install appears (one site said this was because I needed quicktime, which I have) then, once the program tries to run an error message of "jet.exe" failed to open pops up and the program closes. One piece of information I got was to change the compatibility of the program to an older version of windows, and to change a few other settings in the compatibility tab under properties for the program, but to no avail. At one point my computer ran a check on the program which told me my computer was compatible to run the softwear. Is there any way to make the program install so it will actually run?

It sounds like an older program to me, you can try right clicking its main executable (ie the icon you click on to launch the program) and click properties. At that point click on the compatibility tab and probably a good setting is the windows xp option. Then check the box that says "run as adminstrator" then click ok. After this try launching the program.
I tried your suggestion, but sadly, it didn't help. :( When I run the program with the windows xp setting it still says that jet.exe doesn't work and the program has to close. Thanks though.
Ok then navigate to its program folder and search for the jet executable. (normally its C:\program files) and then u either search for it or a variant of the program name or developer (in this case the learning company and its folder may be a variant such as TLC) Once in there, a good idea to simplify is to use the search bar in the explorer window to find the file. At that point try the run as administrator option for that as well with the other file that we have checked. Let me know if there is any joy, if not i still have another idea we can try.
That didn't work either, same error message. Do you know why the first error of E/JEFE/DSSAGENT.EXE keeps coming up when I have Quicktime installed on my computer? That doesn't have anything to do with the other file not working does it?
