Installing CD-RW\DVD ?

I have installed a cd-rw\dvd player. I already have a cdrom installed, and the audio from my motherboard is plugged into that cd-rom drive. Do i need to have another plug into the new cd-rw\dvd drive for the sound to work. I thought it was working, but now seems to not be. Before i go messing around trying to figure out why, i thought i should get the answer to this question first.

Do both cd drives need an audio plug from the mother board?

If you plan on playing audio cd's on it you will need an audio cable. Also may need it for a few other cd's.
