Installation of storage doesn't allow me to open games

i have recently installed a m.2 ssd as a new boot drive, as i used to use my hdd. i have installed windows and games onto the ssd, and it works fine, but when i try to access certain games and files on the hdd it says there is no program to run it. the files have a curved arrow (shortcut i think) and is shaded in. how do i fix it so i can access the files on both the ssd and the hdd and be able to play the games that are installed onto the hdd.

do i need to reinstall windows or maybe the games?

note: i might still have windows downloaded on my hdd

Did you install these games OR did you just try and run them from the hard drive without installing them in the new operating system?

You need to install the games. You can install them to the same folder on the mech drive. The reason for this is that when you install a program, the setup file copies most files to the program folder however some files [usually .DLL type] are copied to the windows and or windows\system32 folder AND the registry is edited to show the location of these files.
While it is technically possible to make this work without installing the games, it requires a high degree of skill AND as I like to say, if you need to ask how to do the task, you do not have the skill level to accomplish the task.
In short, it would be much easier to simply reinstall the games.
BTW if you reinstall to the same folder, your saved games and setting should still be there. No guarantees however normally that is how it works.

Alright then, i dont really understand what these steps you are saying with the reinstallation.
How do i move over or transfer like my files and stuff from my hard drive, like the smaller things.
what is the mech drive?

alright, ill try to reinstall how u have said, but im still confused with those steps u had mentioned
What can be confusing? You install the games.

Yeh i get just installing the games, but when u said " The reason for this is that when you install a program, the setup file copies most files to the program folder however some files [usually .DLL type] are copied to the windows and or windows\system32 folder AND the registry is edited to show the location of these files. " like i dont get that

and also is there a way of copying over like my smaller files like documents, pictures, etc

Sure. Just copy/paste. Done.

once the gamers are reinstalled and everthing is moved over how do i format? or wipe the hdd completely? like wipe windows off and all the games and files
There are many ways to wipe or format a drive. The easiest is to go to my computer and right click the drive. Select format from the drop-down menu.

ok thanks so much, and this wipes like the whole disk? does it remove literall everything off the disk like windows?
If you format the drive, yes everything is gone. If you have multiple partitions on the drive, you will need to delete all of them in disk management then create a single partition and format. Post a screenshot of disk management showing the drive in question. To get to disk management, start>run and type "diskmgmt.msc" without quotes and hit enter.

You delete all partitions on disk0. Once done, right click and create partition then format. Again, this destroys ALL data on the drive so it there is something you want/need, make sure you have a backup.

alright. i think i tried before and it said i had no permission to delete the partition. what do u mean here "Once done, right click and create partition then format." thanks
I mean exactly what I said. When you are done deleting all partitions on the drive, you right click the now unallocated space and create a partition then format.
BTW please use proper grammar and punctuation in the form of proper sentence structure.

Ok, I'll try to do that later. But when I try to delete one of the partitions, this message pops up.

Are you running disk management as admin? If not, do so. If you are still unsuccessful, you can boot the system with a linux live usb. You will be able to delete any partition when running the live usb.
Do understand that linux sometimes labels drives differently so be sure you select the correct drive when deleting anything.
I will be OFF for a while. Good luck.
