Install Issue

Hi I’m currently trying to install kali linux on my laptop everything is working fine except my touch pad. So once I get to the software set up screen in the initial installation process I keep getting stuck on that page because my arrows won’t let me move down to the continue button and my touch pad isn’t working does anyone know a work around for this? I’ve tried shutting the system off and starting over multiple times and I’ve even tried just skipping the step entirely but none of that has seemed to work. I am also single booting my system so if that plays any role in the answer I wanted to make that clear. Any help would be appreciated thank you!
