I'm running icredimail and it worked fine till this evening.then all of a sudden
it told me the I need to load a correct version of macromedia flash to run the program.I did ,But it still told me the same thing again, it takes me to macro, site and instantly downloads tells me its complete,I go back to incredimail only to find the same problem ,,,I've looked into the files and wonder why windows media player is controling some of the files ,If I click on a file it tells me that the file is the wrong type ,I've removed the program twice and reinstalled ,same thing ?? Now here's the thing that I think screwed it up ,before it messed up I was taking certain software programs from my desktop and puting them into my software folder to clean up,I really would like to find the answer to this ,,and you guys are the best ,,,Snidely

Uninstall Incredimail, restart your computer and use Outlook Express as your Windows e-mail client. Incredimail's non-Microsoft certified third-party software and therefore is not guaranteed to work with Windows long-term.

As to Windows Media Player, there are options/preferences, tick or untick boxes, to configure WMP to handle certain file types. Change the configuration; close WMP then restart your computer.

If a target file will still not open; Right-click a target file and point to Open With; Point to Choose Program; Tick the 'always open with' box and click Apply; Ok buttons as appropriate.

Try this. No, reinstalling Windows is the last big step to resolve this issue. Try just a few more things first, OK? Do this stuff in order of appearance restarting your computer after each step, if not prompted to.

Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x comes with a repair tool. To use it, go to the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel; Scroll and click to highlight 'Microsoft Internet Explorer 5/6.x' in the Install/Uninstall window; Then click on the Add/Remove button; Select 'Repair' the current installation of Internet Explorer radio button; Click on OK. Restart your computer when prompted.

***

Open Internet Explorer (IE); Tools menu; Internet Options; Advanced tab; Click the Restore Defaults button; Click Apply; Click Ok. Close IE.

Open (IE); Click the Tools menu; Point to Internet Options; Click the Security tab; Click the Default Level button; Click Apply; Click Ok. Close IE.

Open IE; Click the Tools menu; Internet Options; Click the Security tab; Click the Custom Level button; Click Apply; Click Ok. Close IE. Start IE as desired.

***

Get, install, update and run free Ad-aware (and its HexDump plug-in) from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest referencefiles.

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------ON=GREEN

From main window :Click Start then Activate in-depth scan (recommended)

Click Use Custom Scanning Options' then click Customize' and have these options selected: Under Drives and Folders put a check by Scan Within Archives and below that under Memory and Registry put a check by all the options there.

Now click on the Tweak button in that same window. Under Scanning engine select: Unload recognized processes during scanning and under Cleaning Engine select: Let windows remove files in use at next reboot

Click proceed to save your settings.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Restart your computer.

Tell me what anti-virus you use please? I know of an excellent freebie called AntVir I use that might solve some issues for you. You must get AntiVir ( http://free-av.com click the Download button then click the red/black AntiVir icon), uninstall your current AV then restart your computer then install AntiVir. If you decide to go that route.

Ok since there is no IE entry in Add/Remove Programs, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get all the Critical Updates and Service Packs, only. Keep going back to that site until no Critical Updates and Service packs are left to get. Driver updates are good to get but ignore the Recommended updates. Those are unnecessary. Some Critical Updates and Service Packs can only be downloaded one at a time.

How to tell what's causing problems in your computing issues? Repeatedly seeing the same stuff causing folks headaches plus process of elimination through personal trial and error over a span of years.

What is happening with your running Ad-aware? Hard to say I can't see your machine. Empty the contents of your C:\Windows\Cookies; Temp; And Temporary Internet Files sub-folders then restart your computer. Index.dat alerts are normal. Plus empty your browser's cache:

Click the Start button; Point to Control Panel, select Internet Options; In the box that opens, click the Clear History; Delete Cookies And Delete Files buttons (tick the box next to, 'Delete all off-line content', each in turn; In the box that opens after activating each button, click the OK button. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

You paid for a pop-up killer? If you still want it uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs control panel; Restart your computer; then reinstall the pop-up killer. But there's now a excellent free add-on for your browser made by Microsoft I'd recommend from:

Why is that even a valid answer? I'm sorry, but if your os will occasionally say that third party programs are not allowed, then why is that product even still worth it. Actually, btw, it is certified, and incredimail is a microsoft partner. Where did you get macromedia from?
