Image Format on XP Professional

Whenever I download an image off the net, the "save as type" drop-down menu displays ".bmp" as the only choice for file format no matter what the type of image I download is. Any suggestions on what this is?

Was gonna suggest a repair, but you're IE6. Blast

It may also be that Paint is not geared up for .jpg's. Also, your file association may be wrong. For the latter, lets try this:

Windows explorer | Tools | Options. File types. Click on jpg. What is it set for opening with?
