Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Yahoo IM won't connect. no problems with aol or icq. Even downloaded the new one and tried that one. same thing.

it just goes through the connection attempt and recycles. never connects

any suggestions?

How are you connecting to the internet? Dial up? Cable?

Maybe check the Connection Preferences in Yahoo Messenger.

Even when it's offline, just go up top to 'Messenger' then 'Connection Preferences'

Is it set to behind any proxies?

I'm using WiFi which is going to cox cable.

I went to the preferences and went to the "help" part and it
said to put "firewall with no proxies" so I checked that box and
voila. Up came my IM.

I had a feeling it was the proxies
