Installed IE 7 yesterday. Despite having desired homepage in internet options, when I open IE 7 (opens when sign-on wireless broadband) I get this site - res://webhelper.dll/dnserror.htm#http://ww.yahoo/
I have Yahoo in internet options for homepage.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

What happens if you try to access using the IP address of Yahoo instead? Go into TOOLS >> INTERNET OPTIONS and replace the web address the appears with http://69.147.114.210 instead.

You may also want to clear your temp files and make sure IE is set to check for new versions of the web page on each visit. Click TOOLS >> INTERNET options and click the settings button (under Browsing History) and select the option labeled "Every Time I Visit the Webpage." After making the change close and re-open the browser.

Tried both . No go. And thanks for the assist by the way. Still get that adress. Note that the yahoo address does show for a couple of seconds, then the address I mentioned comes up. No web page, just an error page. It's like it tries to open. I then have to goto the drop down history and it then takes two tries to open the desired web page. Hmm.

You mentioned that the problem is affecting your ability to access Yahoo as your home page. Does the homepage functionality work if you enter some other site as your homepage? Are you able to bring up the Yahoo site manually by entering the web address into your browser or are you blocked from accessing it completly?

No, can't change homepage now from yahoo. Tried deleting cookies, temp internet files, etc. Sure I'll try firefox. I never should have "updated" to IE7. What a piece of crap.

Hello everyone, and thank you for looking into this problem. I work in the web industry and need to use various browsers to vailidate the sites we create. So, unfortunately, I cannot just abandon Microsoft products and install another browser to remedy the issue.

To clarify my problem with IE7... It is very similar to the previous user's, however, it's not just the homepage that won't load... it's any address that I type in. My homepage is simply http://www.google.com and the resulting address that I receive after starting IE7 up is "res://webhelper.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.google.com" The IE7 tab for this window says "cannot find server" and I get the all too familiar "The page cannot be displayed" message.

After doing some research, my only guesses are that this has something to do with my registry or firewall. I am sending this message on a 3 1/2 year old Sony Vaio laptop that I flawlessly upgraded to IE7 about 2 months ago. I am experiencing the problem on a HP "a1510n" desktop that was purchased from a retail store about 6 months ago. If this problem cannot be fixed at this time, how do I simply revert back to the old IE? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
