I was told to update my browser (I had ie5 and downloaded the ie6). Now the websites are telling me my browser is not supported and I must upload the same program.

How do I "cancel" out the ie5 version from my desktop shortcut and get the internet to read the newer version? what files will I lose? what do I download to save first??

Hi,

The update should've replaced all the necessary IE 5 files with IE 6.

Try running the installation again.

When you ran the MIE 6.0 setup and the install process preceeded from there, it should have overwritten and upgraded MIE 5.0 to MIE 6.0.

Getting rid of the MIE desktop shortcut is not problem. Just right-click and click Delete - Yes.
