I am running Windows ME with IE 5.5 been having lots of crashes so I ran the recovery disk and installed most things back. But when updating back to IE 6 it downloads all files but won't install them . Keeps saying a previous installation has pending work requiring a reboot. But no matter what I do..run in safe mode or anything else still doesn't work. I went to control panel to uninstall and start over ..but there is NO version of IE listed and don't know how to find it to uninstall and start over again. I also keep having it crash to the blue screen with the following error message.. OE 016F BFF8E64B..I'm really not very litterate when it comes to the computer and this has me stumped. Can someone help me...

Hi the first thing you can try to do is a repair of your current Internet Explorer. From the Start Button > Run type in or paste:

Msinfo32.exe

When it opens up from the top toolbar click on Tools/Internet Explorer Repair Tool, then click on the second button: Repair Internet Explorer. After you reboot try reinstalling 6.0 again.
