IE Browser Errors and shutdown Windows 2000

I am using Windows 2000 on my Compaq computer, which is about 7 years old. The problem of logging on to the internet and not being able to remain on it due to the Windows Explorer pop errors of wanting to report it to Microsoft is occuring with both my IE6 Browser and Netscapet Browser 8.1 are encountering the same type of problem. My belief is maybe this is some type of invasion of my registry. I am using, Stopzilla, Regseeker and the Comcast Spyware Scan/Desktop Doctor all to no avail. I tried to use the similiar process stated for Windows XP with my Windows 2000 (the Start/Run cmd/sfc process) but to no avail. I have also ran RegCure registery scan program and noted over 900 registry errors but have not purchased this program yet. Is there a freeware/shareware registry program that can clear this problem up. Or is there something I can do in the cmd field to clear this up? If I am force to reformat my hard drive again-if needed- what is the best program/process that I can use to protect my registry-if that is the problem. Does the problem really exist with the attacks upon my registry of the vurnablility of my browsers of possible exposure by my Windows 2000 operating system. Your help on this matter will be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
