IE-6 & auto sign in

I recently have started with a new ISP. I had been using MSN, but cancelled them. I am using IE-6, and am having difficutly getting connected without going into the Control Panel, then to Internet Options, then opening the Connection and hitting the Apply button. Then it will dial my connection, and after connected, I can then open IE-6 and it will work.
Is there an easier way. Since I retired, everything seems against me. HELP Please.

Go back to where you hit the Apply button (Control Panel>Internet Options>Connection) and see what accounts are listed under "Dialup and virtual private network settings." Make sure the one you want IE to use is marked as the default connection (click on it to select it, click on the "set default" button).

Then make sure you have checked the box next to "Always dial my default connection." Click OK to close the window, close IE, open IE again and see if that does the trick.

I have done this before, and made sure everything is proper. It will then work, however, when I close down and then start up later, the "always dial" is unchecked. Hmmmm
