I'm getting an error saying my Primary IDE Controller drivers aren't loaded properly.

Here's my question. Exactly how do I go about determing what IDE Controller driver to use? Is this determined by the HD, motherboard, what?

I've been dealing with problems like this for a couple of years, usually letting the system search for a new driver off of the win9x disk has solved the problem, but I've been unable to resolve this problem that way this time. I think it's about time I learned exactly what I'm looking for rather than shooting in the dark here.

Need More Info? Thoughts? Solutions?

Thank you kind techies!

The ide controller is determined by your motherboard chipset.
You will need to post your motherboard make and model or computer make and model to find the drivers for it
