I'm having problems viewing the icons on my computer.

What do i mean you say...

We'll i first noticed it in my Favorites in Internet Explorer.(not the drop down Favorites)

I have a bunch of folders there and the little folder icon doesn't show up and neither does the IE icons next to website names.

Other places i have this problem is when i try to create a shortcut to my desktop for an application. None of the items are indicated with a icon next to them.

I hope i made sense. If i didn't reply. i wrote this ina hurry.. have to goto work...

No cybertech TweakUI just removed the custom icons for a few webpages i had saved on my desktop back to the default icon for a webpage. That is not a problem. No Big deal. Do this...

Right click on desktop and select new>shortcut.....

When you browse through that menu does your harddrive have the harddrive icon... and your folders have a folder icon... and different application have their icons... because im pretty sure they are supposed to... Mine Don't.

This also happens in my favorites in Internet Explorer. No icons show up for webpages of folders.

This probably occurs in other areas of my computer aswell i just havent found them yet.

dont you see that the icons are missing to the left of the favorites?

comp and photoshop links should be folders and have folder icons next to them. All the rest should have a webpage icon next to them.

Like this:

if the pic isn't showing up. try here

Have you tried the options of the webshortcuts?

click favorites in the toolbar on IE
click organize
right click any file and choose properties
click change icon
there will be a list of icons there, choose one, or you can cut and paste this if there are none listed C:\WINDOWS\system32\url.dll as it is the efault icon for IE pages.

Maybe you have to do that to them all, Im not sure.
Have you used a installed or used .ico program (icon creating program, perhaps the icons are disassociated now?)
