Hp mini Windows 7 not connected to Internet

My hp mini hasn't been connect to the internet I tried connected it to my house wifi and it didn't work, and there's nothing wrong with my wifi. The Wireless network has a sun icon on it. I need help to fix it so I can get connected to back to my wifi.

Did it ever connect to this wireless network? If not, to any wireless network?

Can you connect successfully by ethernet (if the mini has ethernet)?

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver from HP's web site (assuming that you are using an integrated adapter).

What exactly happens when you try to connect to your wireless network?

It connects to optimum but I disconnect cause it isn't my wifi but when I connect to my original wifi name it says Windows was unable to connect to it

What's the complete model number of your HP Mini?
What's the exact product number(P/N) on it?

The network to which you are trying to connect has what wireless mode and what encryption?

Does your wireless adapter support those?

If you left-click the wireless icon with the 'sun' on it is your wireless router in the list of detected wireless connections ? If it is left-click it and tell us what happens.
