Hey guys
I wanna know an easy way to figure out the type of processor/OS i am running. I have the msdn subscription and i downloaded windows vista (x64) but after i burned the image and all it says that my OS is not compatible with 64 bit.

I also want to know if microsoft will be releasing (x32) because all i see at msdn is x64 and x86

I tried to run the windows vista upgrade advisor to see if my laptop passed all the requirements. Everytime i run that program my laptop freezes and turns off.

I have a (centrino) Hp Pavilion dv 4000
Intel (R) Pentium (R) M
processor 1.73 GHz
0.99 GB of RAM

X86 is the 32 bit version and is running parallel with the 64 bit. I am not an MSDN subscriber, but I am not sure if you can download a further full release version of Vista now. Another reader can probably confirm that. Your processor is a 32 bit. and rather slow for satisfactory use of Vista.

Both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions are downloadable from the MSDN subscription page. Note all the X86 entries, both CD and DVD versions.

Actually, if you have an MSDN subscription, you get keys for a number of versions, and the download will install any one of those versions. Being a pig, I installed the Ultimate version. :D
