These people have installed something on PC so that they are my home page address. I don't know how!

Tried changing it, but they soon re appear..guess they have a cookie on my PC?

Tried deleting my cookies but am told access is denied....?

Be sure to read the tutorials for both, they will tell you how to up-date the programs and how to tweek them for best performance.
SpyBot can be set to block in the background after you do the clean-up. This will prevent much of the build-up. If you run both of these programs fairly frequently they will keep you pretty clean.

Run and hit the ->fix tab to fix all found problems

CWS takes advantage of security holes in windows so you should install all critical as well as hotfixes available from windows update.

Then repost a fresh Hijack this log .

Download 'Hijack This!' http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html and save it to a folder on your desktop.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Spybot has an additional feature for when you get everything "cleaned up". You have the ability to "lock" your homepage to avoid this happening in the future.

On the IE Toolbar , Click Tools , Internet Options , Security Tab , ''Internet'' , Click ''Default Level'' You want the slider set to Medium. Select ''Restricted Sites'', Click ''Default Level'' You want the slider set to High.

Next , Create a New Folder in C:\ and name it -> ie-spyads . Download IE-SPYAD.ZIP Extract the IE-spyad files to the new C:\IE-spyad Folder , Click Install.bat , Select option #2 (#4 is optional) then exit.

Install SpywareBlaster Click ''Check for Updates''. Current database Info should list 1239 Items.

Now to monitor your Registry , Install Regprot , Under Run at Startup Click ''Install'' , Then exit.

Hi,

I use this little freeware program, does the job no hassle, it has a few other options too. I just use the option to lock my homepage though, had it for a year or so, never had a problem since!
