I bought a used Dell Latitude laptop from school. It comes with Windows 10 Education. I have been trying to replace it with Windows 10 Pro Plus, but in vain. I tried a clean install with Windows 10 Pro Plus ISO-USB, but after the installation, it always defaults to Windows 10 Education. Can someone help me find out how to remove Windows 10 Education and replace it with Windows 10 Pro??? I did “PC Reset” and removed everything from the computer, and I installed Windows 10 Pro Plus using ISO-USB. When the installation was complete, it defaulted to Windows 10 Education again. So now I don’t know what else to do! Please help! I would greatly appreciate your help. All the best. Chris

They aren't entitled to use the Education version if they are no longer a student and using it for home personal use as it would be a violation of the license agreement. Of course they aren't entitled to use the Enterprise version either unless in a corporate environment.

What's the exact 7-character "service tag" number on that Dell Latitude laptop?

Where did you obtain "Windows 10 Pro Plus"?

I'm sorry! I run into serious problems with the computer I was trying to replace Windows 10 Education on... It took me days to solve the issue. I really appreciate your help, and I apologize again for my delay in responding. I ended up buying a new Windows 10 Pro product key and replaced windows 10 Education with clean install using ISO-USB install. Best,

We are checking this but from my understanding is the Education license is not changeable and you will need to purchase a license for professional version.

there is a education pro version but a ‘pro plus’ seems to be with Microsoft Office and that is also a volume license so same rules apply

Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, I realized I made a mistake in my post. Windows 10 Education Pro Plus doesn't exist. I was confusing it with Office Pro Plus. Anyway, I bought a new Windows 10 Pro product key and replaced Windows 10 Education with clean install using ISO-USB.

Why don't you want the Education version? It is equivalent to Enterprise in terms of features.
Thanks for your response. I like Windows Education, but the problem I have is that it is not activated on the computer and I don't have the product key. Every time I try to change something, I get an error message saying "You need to activate Windows or contact my system admin..."

Have you gone into settings and changed the Product Key to the one for Windows 10 Pro?

Go to Settings > System
Select About
Below Windows specifications select "Change product key or upgrade your edition of Windows"
Thanks for your feedback. I tried all of the above with a new product key, but it didn't work. I kept getting error message saying "I need to activate Windows or contact my system admin..." The only way I managed to do it was by doing clean install using ISO-USB install.
