Open My Computer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Now search for *.pst; *.pab

I'd rather work this out here in the Forum so others can see what is said and done.

i think the file i'm looking for is deeper than that!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have been guided by others to find files with: ~, .dat, etc

when i found the pst file i am not sure that the creation date is not old enough...
~ is a backup of the address book, whenever I see that little file I delete it :p

Maybe this will help.

Typicall with Outlook2000, all e-mail, contacts and calendar information is stored in a single *.pst file and there is no separate address book by default.

Sometimes searching for the PST file doesn't show up in Explorer. If this is the case, try searching from a DOS prompt (dir c:\*.pst /s)
