How to make a Local Disk on the Data (D) drive

I have got a brand new all-in-one desktop which is an Asus Vivo V241. It has 1TB HDD and 512 SDD. I wish to make a Local Disk on the Data (D) drive because I want to make sure I leave room for the OS (C) drive. Not sure if you can do that or not.

Stefan, you've already got a boot disk (likely C: ) and a D: drive. If you direct all of your data saving and downloads to the D: drive, they will not be on your C:. For downloads, create a Download directory on your D: drive then go to your browser settings and point to that folder for the download location.

For all other data, and programs/apps that you install, use the advance install (when available) and select the D: drive as the location for installation. For example, if you go to install a program named whosit, it will likely default to C:\Program Files\Whosit. Change the C to a D and the program will install to D:\Program Files\Whosit, saving you the space on your C: drive. For data, just do a "Save as" and select the D: drive and whatever folder structure you decide on.

Okay, hopefully I will manage to do all that. Just where I am having trouble like when I install iTunes onto the D drive, some of the other programs like Bonjour get installed on the C drive. I just only want the the programs only on the D drive.
I will follow the instructions that you have given me. Thank you very much.
Some programs may not give you the option of where to install. I am stuck with some on my C:, too, but whenever possible, I put them on D:.
What's wrong with installing on C:\? Works for me. :)
Nothing at all. But, if you are working with a smallish C: drive and a larger D: drive, you'd want to try to save as much of your smaller (usually SSD) drive space as possible. One way is to install programs on the D: drive.
