I have Windows XP Pro, sp3.

I have a program called "Super Winspy 3.3" which gives a bunch of information, one thing of which is: "URLs History." I don't know how to clear this info.

I "Clear'ed Private Data Now" in Firefox 2.0.0.16. It didn't do anything. Then I deleted C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Local Settings\History\Today\all files. This got rid of about half of the URL's. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the rest. Then I went into IE Tools>Internet Options>General... and deleted everything. This got rid of the rest of the URLs. What I'd like to know is where this information is kept. Can somebody please tell me where this info is kept?

You could be looking at the contents of index.dat files; http://www.acesoft.net/delete_index.dat_files.htm There are many programs that 'clean' these (they can't be deleted so, after cleaning, they are recreated).

If you do a Google search for index.dat cleaners you should get lots of hits. One free program that claims to take care of them is CCleaner ;http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ I have used it since it first came out without any problems, although I understand that others may have (perhaps they used the Registry cleaner, never a good idea!).

CCleaner also clears things called User Assist keys (Registry keys that store information about some user activities) ;http://www.personal-computer-tutor.com/abc3/v29/vic29.htm
