A friend of mine has a spare hard drive that he no longer uses. Apparently it's "corrupted" In anycase, he wants to wipe the whole thing and start fresh. I'm assuming that reformatting the hard drive would be the best way to do this?

How should I go about doing this?

Thanks for any help

I'd consider using the manufacturer's diagnostic first to make sure the drive is 100% functional. You can also wipe out all of the data on the drive with the diagnostic to be ready for partitioning and formatting. :)
