I am a remote worker using a Secured Workspace Key, Apparently the latest Windows update reenabled Secure Boot and my Helpdesk tells me I have to go into BIOS to disable it. Try as I might I cannot locate the menu to accomplish this. Any assistance gratefully appreciated.

Yes,that was the first thing I tried but my system the HP Z400 proceeded to launch as normal anyway. So next I restarted again & tried the F9 key which is what I have been instructed to use when launching the usb secured workspace. That allowed me into a menu that had a number of tabs such as system information and security.(Sorry not in front of the system just now so don't have exact headings. However none where the specific secure boot action with enable disable option so I'm not sure if I missed a drill down menu or if there might be another screen to access as I am very wary of doing something in errorh
Fairly comprehensive manual for the HP Z400 here:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/667065/Hp-Z400.html?page=43#manual

and no mention of secure boot in the BIOS section.

I think HP Z400 (released 2009) predates secure boot, and does not have it as an option.
Secure boot came about with Windows 8 (released in 2012).
Thank you for the reference I found a manual previously on the hp website but got lost in it. My z400 is currently running Windows 10 as I purchased it 2 years ago as a refurbished device. Would that make a difference to the secure boot feature?

No, the OS cannot add functionality to the BIOS.

What is the problem exactly? Is it failing to boot from USB?

There is a setting in BIOS under Storage Options:
"Removable Media Boot—Enables and disables the ability to start the workstation from removable media."

According to manual, it is F10 at boot to get into BIOS, F9 at boot to bring up a boot menu, where you can select the USB to boot from it (but that setting needs to be enabled in BIOS first)

Can also see the boot order in BIOS. Default is USB before HD, so if it's at default (and above setting is enabled) it should boot off a bootable USB before going to the HD. So my question would be is the USB really bootable, and what exactly is on it / how was it made?

This key is a secure work environment provided by my service Gigcx (formerly Liveconnect) to enable me to perform services as a home based agent for a particular contract...apparently the last microsoft update reset the function for secured boot from disabled to enabled for some users so they are supposed to change that option back to disabled so the usb can load. With the great variety of setups the helpdesk isn't able to step each agent through the BIOS setups to locate the secure boot option for each agent so they've told us the what of the problem but not the where. I am not a technical person and sadly don't have access to a young techy type relation so have reachout here for assistance. As I mentioned in an earlier reply, when I tried pressing the F10 key at start up, the system didn't redirect but simply loaded as normal so that left me mystified as to my next step. As you mention earlier that you had seen from the manual that Z400 wasn't provisioned with the secure boot option my plan was to go back to my helpdesk with that info and describe in more detail where the loading process is stalling and go from there as the key is recognizing initial logins but stalling at the citrix desktop load, I think myself and the techs may be thinking apples and oranges just because of the volume of errors being generated and my problem might not be the secure boot issue.

Glad to hear you've got things working! It would have been nice to know what the issue/resolution was, but the important thing is you can work again!
