Hi
I have a laptop which is configured to run at the office on a wireless network.
I have installed a wireless router at home to share my broadband connection.
The laptop is 'talking' to the home pc wirelessly with an 'excellent' strength signal and it is secure etc but I can't access the internet on the laptop.
I have followed a couple of other users posts in this forum to check firewalls etc and was just going through the
start,programs,accessories,communications, networkset up wizard.
I did this first on the host computer and set up a new network.
I then went to the laptop and it told me that
'this computer belongs to a domain. Therefore you cannot use this wizard to set up a network.

I then went to add a new user to the laptop to see if this would allow me set up as a different user but it told me it didn't trust me or something !!!!!!!
Any ideas, I only want to browse the internet on the lapotp.!!

Don't change ANY network settings on your work computer. Doing so could lock you out of your system and result in data loss. It's possible that your work computer is configured to go through a proxy server or has some other security software installed so it can't be used on any network other than your secured work network.

Talk to your company's IT department about working from home. They gave you a laptop, so I assume they expect you to work in places other than the office.

XP has provisions for alternate configurations, and you could also use something like NetSwitcher, which is easier to setup.
