Go to Start > Run, type Msconfig.
On the Startup tab you'll see almost all applications that start up automatically as Windows loads, and they can be disabled right there.
Some of them however are required, so please don't go wildly unchecking everything in sight.
Instead, use Pacman's List of Startup Applications to determine what should stay and what can go.
In case of doubt, don't hesitate to ask.
